The Project
The Mississauga Hospital (M-Site) is located at the corner of Hurontario Street and The Queensway and is part of Trillium Health Partners (THP). Comprised of several buildings, M-Site cares for more than 1.3 million patients annually, making it one of the busiest hospitals in the country.
The Challenge
To construct a multi-level parking garage above and below grade. Due to limits of construction constraints and high uplift loading, the consultants identified the requirement for temporary shoring and rock anchors.
The Solution
Maple Site Solutions Inc. tendered this project and was successful in providing an efficient temporary shoring system in conjunction with dewatering. In addition, Maple Site Solutions Inc. also provided a design build solution utilizing a permanent TCP (Triple corrosion protection) rock anchor system based on the loading requirements provided by the Consultant. An extensive testing program was conducted to verify the adhesion assumed in our rock anchor design.
