The Project
Due to the aging infrastructure and in order to keep up with increased service requirements, the Region of Peel is taking measures to ensure that our infrastructure is in place and servicing the needs of its residents.
The Challenge
The project is situated in a tight location on a road where complete access must be maintained for the existing resident. Many utilities are present and are required to be maintained. The services to be maintained require by-pass pumping and commissioning prior to decommissioning existing services. Deep excavations are required for the removal and replacement of the existing pumping station and wet well.
The Solution
Maple Site Solutions Inc. presented a design build solution to minimize the impact of the existing services and construction for the new pumping station and wet well. Maple Site Solutions Inc. implemented an internally braced secant wall-reducing the footprint of excavation, and the impact a dewatering system could pose with the surrounding structures.
