Due to an aging population and demand for housing and care support for our seniors, additional beds were required through construction of a new long term care on the existing facility grounds.
The Challenge
The project consisted of a large development for new beds and upgrades to the existing facility. In order to accommodate the existing residents, the project is phased to allow part construction of a new wing. Once complete, the existing residents can move into the newly constructed wing while the existing structure is demolished and rebuilt. The existing and new structures are built in northern Ontario with significant variable soil conditions. Ground conditions consist of soft glacial till over variable rock elevation conditions.
The Solution
Maple Site Solutions Inc. was retained to supply and install a driven H-Pile foundation driven to bedrock for the proposed new structures.
