The Project

The intersection of Bathurst and Eglinton Avenue in Toronto has experienced an influx of redevelopment and intensification in recent years. This is largely due to its proximity to the desirable Forest Hill neighbourhood, as well as its access to transit and major thoroughfares.

The Challenge

This project was located between 2 structures, a laneway, and a busy Toronto road. All work was confined to a tight site in a congested part of Toronto. One of the existing buildings contained highly sensitive equipment that could not be subject to any vibrations. The new structure was to be constructed to allow for 1 level of underground parking.

The Solution

Maple Site Solutions Inc. was retained by the Developer to provide a design, supply and install solution considering the challenging restrictions present on this particular project. Maple Site Solutions Inc. was able to provide a low vibration secant wall and soldier pile and lagging system to support the excavation. To overcome the logistical challenges, Maple Site Solutions Inc. implemented a mix on-site concrete solution to prevent any delay from concrete deliveries through Toronto’s busy road network.
