The Project
New Equalization Tank, and upgrades consisting of a new equalization tank, SBR inlet channel modifications, chemical system upgrades, new electric actuators for existing valves, supernatant discharge modification, a new municipal water supply, developer’s sanitary forcemain along Sutton WRRF access road, meter chamber connection and new counter/cupboards in the control room.
The Challenge
The new equalization tank was designed adjacent to the existing decant tank. In order to construct the new tank, a deep excavation was required to allow the 2 structures to be joined at the base slab. The proposed new tank is located in close proximity to property lines and adjacent to existing wetland.
The Solution
In order to construct the new tank, Maple Site Solutions Inc. was retained to design, supply and install a temporary secant wall shoring solution to allow the Contractor to excavate and construct the new tank structure.
