Portsmouth Pumping Station – Kingston

In response to a planned increase in local development, Utilities Kingston has undertaken a project to redirect the Portsmouth Pumping Station network. This project will alleviate system constraints and provide the opportunity to better service the growing community.

Maple Site Solutions Inc. was retained by EBC Inc. to design, supply, and install secant wall shoring with compression ring shafts consisting of a 1.5 metre rock socket. The shafts were completed to facilitate micro-tunnelling by Ward and Burke, who used the shafts to drop equipment down to the elevation of the new watermain, drilling through rock towards another shaft where the equipment was then retrieved.

We are happy to have contributed to this project which will ensure that Kingston utilities can operate at an increasing capacity and address the region’s growing demands.
