The Project
The City of Guelph has programs in place to upgrade the deteriorating existing infrastructure. Existing service and culverts were required to be removed and replaced.
The Challenge
Replacement of the existing services and culvert below an existing Metrolinx rail line. Excavation of the existing berm was required to tie into the existing head wall that was set back into the berm where rail loading is now imposed within prescribed excavation limits.
The Solution
Maple Site Solutions Inc. was retained by the Contractor to provide a design, supply and installation of a temporary shoring solution to support the existing bank with active trains to allow the contractor to excavate and tie in the new services.
