The Project
Bridge 7 is a 2 span cast-in-place monolithic T-Girder structure consisting of 5 individual girders, located on Chiefswood Road. The project consisted of the replacement of the existing structure with a single span concrete box girder, concrete deck integrally connected to the abutments, concrete parapet walls, and approach slabs.
The Challenge
Due to the increased loads and current design requirements, a 100 year service life deep foundation solution was required. Existing ground conditions were soft saturated fill over bedrock.
The Solution
Maple Site Solutions Inc. implemented a permanent casing solution seated in the rock to cut off the water and allow drilling to advance our rock augers to specified rock embedment depth.
